MBSR 8 week programme

MBSR was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and has been running in its current format for over 35 years. It is an experiential-based learning approach and offers an empirically validated method to cultivate mindfulness. The course consists of eight interactive sessions, each for 1.5 hours, exploring the principles and practice of mindfulness as well as group discussions about present-moment experience. The programme is much more than a stress reduction intervention. It supports participants to deepen their understanding of themselves, to understand the nature of the human mind and how it functions and to be able to cultivate the capacity to create choice and respond appropriately and effectively to the demands of daily life.
